TOGAF® (The Open Group Architecture Framework) is an international standard for Enterprise Architecture developed by The Open Group and used by organizations around the world as a model for preparing and implementing change in the enterprise.
The TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture training is available at two levels:
- Foundation – provides a solid introduction to TOGAF®, covering core concepts, terminology, and the fundamental principles of enterprise architecture,
- Practitioner – focuses on the practical application of TOGAF® in real-world scenarios based on case studies, where various techniques for creating and implementing in an organization and managing enterprise architecture development are applied.
The TOGAF® EA Foundation training course is designed for people involved in strategic organizational change at various levels, those involved in change management, managers, directors, and those responsible for business -IT harmonization, including current and future enterprise architects, domain architects, managers, business analysts, and project managers. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to participate in projects that introduce directional changes and develop an enterprise architecture that supports business objectives and enables the implementation of the organization’s strategic initiatives.
During the course, participants will learn the broad fundamentals of the methodology, its components, and the latest elements introduced by TOGAF® Standard, 10th Edition, which enable active participation in the work on enterprise architecture and its adaptation to the needs of the organization, taking into account the requirements of various stakeholder groups.
The training prepares you for the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Foundation exam and certification. In accordance with The Open Group’s recommendation, participation in an accredited training course is an important component of certification preparation.
Purpose of the training
- understanding the concepts of Enterprise Architecture and the TOGAF® Standard,
- learning about the Architecture Development Method (ADM) – a pattern of behavior, phases, steps, and actions, as well as guidelines on how to adapt and scale the method to the architecture being developed and its functions,
- learning about techniques and models that support the practical application of TOGAF® guidelines,
- familiarization with TOGAF® methodology products and the Architecture Repository structure,
- acquiring knowledge necessary to achieve the TOGAF® EA Foundation certification.

- people looking for a model for change management in their organization according to enterprise architecture principles,
- specialists starting work or already working in organizations implementing the TOGAF® standard,
- those wishing to begin a path toward TOGAF certification (i.e. aiming eventually for Practitioner),
- business analysts, architects (business, data, solution, etc.), IT professionals, project managers and participants in projects requiring business-IT harmonization,
- people with several years of professional experience who understand the basics of how an organization works and have no experience in enterprise architecture—basic knowledge is helpful but not required,
- Note: Training materials and the certification exam are in English; therefore, a working proficiency in English is required to understand the presented concepts.

Exam and certification
TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Part 1 (Foundation) exam details:
- mandatory exam,
- exam code: OGEA-101 – English,
- multiple-choice, single-response questions test,
- number of questions: 40,
- pass threshold: 60% (24 out of 40 possible points),
- language of the exam: English, among others – selected on the Accreditor’s website during exam registration,
- current list of available exam languages can be found on the Accreditor’s website: https://www.opengroup.org/certifications/kb-services#exams,
- duration: 60 minutes(extra minutes for non-native speakers – to receive it, select “ESL – English as a Second Language” when registering for the exam),
- mode: online exam proctored via the OnVue Proctoring system or in-person at Pearson Vue test center,
- date: post training, selected by participants at the Accreditor’s availability,
- closed book – no use of materials,
- validity of the exam voucher: up to 12 months – an expiry date is provided with the voucher,
- validity of the certificate: indefinite,
- participant who scores the necessary number of points in the exam is awarded the international TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation certificate in electronic form.
Note! In the case of an unsuccessful exam attempt, the participant may purchase a retake. The retake exam attempt can be taken after a 30-day waiting period. Any score received before this time will be invalidated.
The retake order must be submitted within 2 years of the date of the exam date.
