As part of the DTMethod Facilitator training, participants will learn in detail about the role of the DTFacilitator, i.e. the person responsible for carrying out the process – from the stage of establishing the challenge with the DTSponsor to its closure when the team hands over the solution to the DTSponsor.
During the training, participants learn about the role of the facilitator in the context of leading and preparing a DTMethod workshop – what such a person does during the workshop and what goes beyond his or her competence. During the training, the competences necessary to create a challenge description, i.e. to extract from the DTSponsor the guiding thought for the whole process, are practised. Participants also lean into the topic of helping the DTSponsor to select an effective DTTeam. The training also covers the topic of how the group process influences the implementation of the workshop and how to deal with the challenges associated with the different phases of group development. As part of the training, participants will also learn about the factors affecting effective communication and how to deal with communication difficulties. The final part of the training looks at scaling design thinking workshops for larger groups or large organisations.
Facilitator tools such as energisers, icebreakers and interruptions are also discussed and practised during the training. At the end of the training, participants will have the opportunity to take part in facilitator samples and receive feedback from other participants to develop their workshop leading skills.
